Beer Price in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average beer import price amounted to $1.0 per litre, with a decrease of -5.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1.2 per litre. From March 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($2.0 per litre), while the price for Lithuania ($785 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beer Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
The average beer export price stood at $412 per thousand litres in August 2023, growing by 4.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 45% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $0.5 per litre. From February 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Equatorial Guinea ($730 per thousand litres), while the average price for exports to Georgia ($192 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beer Imports in Ukraine
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of beer decreased by -15.7% to 63M litres in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at 74M litres in 2021, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, beer imports shrank markedly to $55M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 17%. Imports peaked at $71M in 2021, and then fell markedly in the following year.

Beer Exports in Ukraine
In 2022, overseas shipments of beer decreased by -59% to 52M litres, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports recorded a sharp decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 144M litres. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, beer exports contracted dramatically to $19M in 2022. In general, exports saw a significant curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $45M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
