From 2018 to 2022, global production growth remained at a lower figure.

Production By Country

China (1.3M units) constituted the country with the largest volume of beverage filter production, accounting for 27% of total volume. Moreover, beverage filter production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Germany (332K units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Italy (264K units), with a 5.4% share.

In China, beverage filter production increased at an average annual rate of +9.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (+6.1% per year) and Italy (+7.9% per year).

Imports

World Imports of Machinery For Filtering And Purifying Beverages

Global beverage filter imports rose notably to 2.5M units in 2022, picking up by 12% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 48% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4M units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of global imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, beverage filter imports shrank to $305M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a slight descent. France (95K units), Myanmar (77K units), the Czech Republic (61K units), Germany (51K units), Brazil (49K units), the Dominican Republic (46K units) and Argentina (42K units) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Myanmar (with a CAGR of +112.6%), while imports for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($35M), France ($27M) and the United States ($17M) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 26% share of global imports. The Philippines, Argentina, Singapore, Mexico, the Czech Republic, India, Brazil, Myanmar and the Dominican Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 12%.

Myanmar, with a CAGR of +40.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices By Country

In 2022, the average beverage filter import price amounted to $124 per unit, declining by -16.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 109%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $274 per unit. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, the largest beverage filter supplying countries worldwide were Italy ($65M), Germany ($59M) and the United States ($33M), with a combined 45% share of global exports. The Netherlands, China, the UK, India, Singapore and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.

Among the main exporting countries, China, with a CAGR of +36.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

The average beverage filter export price stood at $147 per unit in 2022, increasing by 5.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 133%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $331 per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($655 per unit), while Taiwan (Chinese) ($1.8 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
