The average carbon disulphide import price stood at $121,039 per ton in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the import price enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 88%. The import price peaked at $208,140 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($149,000 per ton), while the price for the United States totaled $103,115 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+56.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Carbon Disulphide Imports in the Philippines
For the third year in a row, the Philippines recorded decline in overseas purchases of carbon disulphides, which decreased by 0% to 128 kg in 2022. Overall, imports posted a significant increase. The smallest decline of -39.4% was in 2020. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
