Cereal Germ Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022
The average cereal germ export price stood at $201 per ton in 2022, growing by 37% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, faced a sharp descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 364% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $14,200 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($209 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary totaled $179 per ton.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+67.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Cereal Germ Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2022
The average cereal germ import price stood at $2,882 per ton in 2022, surging by 21% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 51%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,067 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($9,184 per ton), while the price for Germany ($1,957 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+16.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cereal Germ Exports in Croatia
In 2022, exports of cereal germ from Croatia fell modestly to 517 tons, reducing by -3.2% compared with 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 17,828%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 534 tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, cereal germ exports skyrocketed to $104K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 25,493% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Cereal Germ Imports in Croatia
In 2022, purchases abroad of cereal germ decreased by -28.5% to 18 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 111% against the previous year.
In value terms, cereal germ imports contracted to $52K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 122%.
