Chewing Gum Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average chewing gum export price amounted to $4,494 per ton, surging by 64% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 133% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $7,372 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($13,624 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($1,530 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chewing Gum Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023
The average chewing gum import price stood at $5,636 per ton in June 2023, growing by 6.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 28% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($12,454 per ton), while the price for China ($3,193 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chewing Gum Exports in the Netherlands
In 2022, approx. 6.9K tons of chewing gum were exported from the Netherlands; jumping by 57% compared with 2021. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +75.1% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +61.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
