Crane Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023

The average crane import price stood at $91,744 per unit in September 2023, jumping by 19% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 47% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $164K per unit in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($155K per unit), while the price for Italy ($73,150 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Crane Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023

The average crane export price stood at $120K per unit in September 2023, growing by 11% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 26% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $139K per unit in June 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($209K per unit), while the average price for exports to Cyprus ($51,320 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+12.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Crane Imports in Turkey

In 2022, overseas purchases of derricks, cranes, mobile lifting frames, straddle carriers and work trucks fitted with a crane decreased by -21.5% to 12K units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 125% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 16K units in 2021, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, crane imports shrank modestly to $173M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 117% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $181M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Crane Exports in Turkey

In 2022, the amount of derricks, cranes, mobile lifting frames, straddle carriers and work trucks fitted with a crane exported from Turkey dropped to 12K units, reducing by -1.8% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, exports faced a deep contraction. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at 19K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, crane exports rose sharply to $96M in 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt decline. The exports peaked at $119M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
