Dairy Produce Price in Tanzania (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average dairy produce import price amounted to $1,974 per ton, shrinking by -6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 43%. The import price peaked at $2,408 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uganda ($4,649 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($152 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average dairy produce export price amounted to $1,416 per ton, increasing by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 280%. The export price peaked at $2,900 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kenya ($11,607 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($95 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+71.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Dairy Produce Imports in Tanzania
Dairy produce imports into Tanzania shrank remarkably to 5.5K tons in 2022, which is down by -48.4% on the year before. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt descent.
