The average ester gums import price stood at $12,022 per ton in September 2022, which is down by -14.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 an increase of 101% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $14,069 per ton in August 2022, and then dropped in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($12,804 per ton), while the price for China ($9,672 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
