France, Sweden, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Thailand, Portugal, China, the Czech Republic and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.
Portugal, with a CAGR of +6.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices By Country
In 2022, the average files and rasps import price amounted to $2.3 per unit, declining by -28.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price faced a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 8.8%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $11 per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

While the share of China (+29 p.p.), the Netherlands (+4.1 p.p.), Germany (+3.8 p.p.) and Portugal (+3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of India (-21 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest files and rasps supplying countries worldwide were China ($71M), Germany ($47M) and India ($41M), with a combined 48% share of global exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, China, with a CAGR of +4.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices By Country
In 2022, the average files and rasps export price amounted to $1.6 per unit, which is down by -64.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 39% against the previous year.
