Fish Parts Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average fish parts import price amounted to $6,251 per ton, picking up by 60% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated notable growth from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, fish parts import price increased by +60.4% against June 2023 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($6,919 per ton), while the price for Iceland ($6,153 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Norway (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average fish parts export price stood at $4,109 per ton in June 2023, waning by -7.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 33% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $4,739 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($8,819 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($3,264 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fish Parts Imports in the Netherlands
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of fish heads, tails and maws, when their volume decreased by -95.4% to 140 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 2,616%.
In value terms, fish parts imports fell sharply to $459K in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 3,929% against the previous year.
