The average flakes; of potatoes import price stood at $2,225 per ton in 2022, rising by 33% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, flakes; of potatoes import price increased by +69.1% against 2020 indices. The import price peaked at $2,283 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from the United States ($2,502 per ton) and Belgium ($2,482 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,814 per ton) and the Netherlands ($1,924 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third year in a row, the Dominican Republic recorded decline in supplies from abroad of flakes; of potatoeses, which decreased by -39.5% to 37 tons in 2022. Overall, imports saw a dramatic slump. The smallest decline of -12.5% was in 2021.
In value terms, flakes; of potatoes imports dropped sharply to $83K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a sharp slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 11% against the previous year.
