Fluoropolymers Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average fluoropolymers import price stood at $27,517 per ton in August 2023, increasing by 3.4% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $29,528 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($34,624 per ton), while the price for China ($18,485 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fluoropolymers Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average fluoropolymers export price amounted to $31,137 per ton, picking up by 7.4% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated pronounced growth from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, fluoropolymers export price decreased by -6.8% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 19% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $33,393 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($107K per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($19,063 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fluoropolymers Imports in Germany
In 2022, the amount of fluoropolymers imported into Germany contracted to 25K tons, flattening at the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 26K tons, leveling off in the following year.
In value terms, fluoropolymers imports soared to $583M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +80.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
