Frozen Crustaceans Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average frozen crustaceans import price amounted to $7,739 per ton, which is down by -2.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8,389 per ton. From December 2022 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($14,040 per ton), while the price for Spain ($2,189 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lithuania (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Crustaceans Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average frozen crustaceans export price stood at $6,925 per ton in August 2023, falling by -26.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a temperate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 162% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $11,783 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($11,848 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($3,372 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Crustaceans Imports in Poland
In 2022, supplies from abroad of frozen crustaceans decreased by -4.2% to 8.2K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +43.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 8.5K tons, and then fell modestly in the following year.
In value terms, frozen crustaceans imports expanded remarkably to $65M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Frozen Crustaceans Exports in Poland
In 2022, approx. 1.1K tons of frozen crustaceans were exported from Poland; almost unchanged from the previous year's figure. In general, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 228% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 1.1K tons, leveling off in the following year.
