The average ghee import price stood at $6,738 per ton in June 2023, rising by 5.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 10% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $7,191 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($9,264 per ton) and Lithuania ($7,425 per ton), while the price for New Zealand ($6,695 per ton) and Sweden ($6,840 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In June 2023, the average ghee export price amounted to $6,506 per ton, with a decrease of -27.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 36% month-to-month.
