The average goats; live import price stood at $178 per unit in August 2023, dropping by -14% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a moderate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 96% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $306 per unit in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Africa ($356 per unit), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($109 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+16.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
