Grape Price in Myanmar (CIF) - 2022
In December 2022, the average grape import price amounted to $786 per ton, leveling off at the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 when the average import price increased by 58% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,592 per ton. From February 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($1,207 per ton), while the price for China stood at $764 per ton.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+1.2%).
Grape Price in Myanmar (FOB) - 2022
The average grape export price stood at $394 per ton in 2022, dropping by -25.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price faced a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,906 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for China.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to -14.6% per year.
Grape Imports in Myanmar
In 2022, purchases abroad of grapes decreased by -29.2% to 1.4K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 146%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 5.7K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, grape imports shrank to $1.3M in 2022. Overall, imports faced a precipitous descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $3.1M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Grape Exports in Myanmar
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of grapes, when their volume decreased by -25.5% to 171 tons. In general, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 617%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 230 tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, grape exports plummeted to $67K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 842% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $122K, and then reduced notably in the following year.
