Green Bean Price in Austria (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average green bean import price amounted to $3,710 per ton, rising by 2.5% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a perceptible increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, green bean import price increased by +7.9% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 21% month-to-month. The import price peaked in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($5,763 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($2,484 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Green Bean Price in Austria (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average green bean export price amounted to $2,443 per ton, with an increase of 3.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 54% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,396 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($5,905 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($1,847 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Green Bean Imports in Austria
In 2022, purchases abroad of green beans decreased by -14.5% to 1.8K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.3K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, green bean imports reduced to $4.9M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $5.9M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Green Bean Exports in Austria
In 2022, shipments abroad of green beans decreased by -34.4% to 383 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 208%.
In value terms, green bean exports declined markedly to $936K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 116% against the previous year.
