Linoleum Price in Uganda (FOB) - 2022

The average linoleum export price stood at $3.1 per square meter in 2022, growing by 6.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 9.1%. The export price peaked at $3.7 per square meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Democratic Republic of the Congo.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Democratic Republic of the Congo amounted to -1.6% per year.

Linoleum Price in Uganda (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average linoleum import price amounted to $3.9 per square meter, waning by -13.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 33%. The import price peaked at $5.6 per square meter in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($5.9 per square meter), while the price for the United States ($0.8 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Linoleum Exports in Uganda

For the fourth year in a row, Uganda recorded growth in shipments abroad of linoleum, which increased by 6% to 2.5K square meters in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +67.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, linoleum exports expanded significantly to $7.8K in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +22.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +82.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 43% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Linoleum Imports in Uganda

After two years of decline, overseas purchases of linoleum increased by 518% to 3.4K square meters in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a dramatic descent. Imports peaked at 6.9K square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, linoleum imports soared to $13K in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a sharp shrinkage. Imports peaked at $26K in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
