Maize Bran Price in India (FOB) - 2022
The average maize bran export price stood at $165 per ton in 2022, growing by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 87%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $349 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($314 per ton), while the average price for exports to Nepal amounted to $151 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Maize Bran Price in India (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average maize bran import price amounted to $332 per ton, growing by 3.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a perceptible setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 180% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,195 per ton. From November 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,401 per ton), while the price for Nepal stood at $288 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+0.5%).
Maize Bran Exports in India
In 2022, approx. 40K tons of maize bran were exported from India; increasing by 5.1% against 2021. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 493% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
