Marble and Travertine Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
In 2021, the average marble and travertine import price amounted to $402 per ton, falling by -19.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average import price increased by 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $517 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,033 per ton), while the price for Armenia ($171 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Marble and Travertine Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
In 2021, the average marble and travertine export price amounted to $114 per ton, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 109% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $210 per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($225 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($57 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Marble and Travertine Imports in Russia
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of marble and travertine decreased by -22.8% to 6.6K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 8.5K tons, and then dropped notably in the following year.
In value terms, marble and travertine imports contracted rapidly to $2.9M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 169% against the previous year.
