As a result, production attained the peak volume of 455K tons. From 2014 to 2022, global production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, meat and fish extracts production reduced slightly to $2.3B in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, recorded a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 7.6%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $3B. In 2022, South Korea (7.8K tons), Japan (7.6K tons) and Hong Kong SAR (7K tons) represented the major importer of extracts and juices of meat, fish, crustaceans and molluscs in the world, committing 47% of total import. Import Prices By Country

The average meat and fish extracts import price stood at $4,594 per ton in 2022, increasing by 10% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,669 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The average meat and fish extracts export price stood at $4,129 per ton in 2022, reducing by -6.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 13%. The global export price peaked at $5,145 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
