Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Price in Greece (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average non-combined refrigerator-freezer import price amounted to $297 per unit, with an increase of 7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 9.9% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in July 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($451 per unit), while the price for Serbia ($46.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+8.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Price in Greece (FOB) - 2023
The average non-combined refrigerator-freezer export price stood at $799 per unit in July 2023, picking up by 60% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, non-combined refrigerator-freezer export price increased by +60.3% against June 2023 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($1,274 per unit), while the average price for exports to France ($178 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+16.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Imports in Greece
In 2022, approx. 176K units of household refrigerators and freezers (not combined) were imported into Greece; almost unchanged from the previous year's figure. Overall, imports continue to indicate a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 17%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at 289K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer imports expanded significantly to $48M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +62.2% against 2020 indices.
