Pasta Products Price in the United Arab Emirates (CIF) - 2022
The average pasta products import price stood at $2,173 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -5.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,307 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($3,325 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,117 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Pasta Products Price in the United Arab Emirates (FOB) - 2022
The average pasta products export price stood at $997 per ton in 2022, declining by -3.4% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, pasta products export price decreased by -24.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 26%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,323 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($1,278 per ton), while the average price for exports to Tanzania ($459 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+16.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pasta Products Imports in the United Arab Emirates
In 2022, overseas purchases of dried, undried and frozen pasta and pasta products decreased by -14.6% to 16K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +36.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 19K tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, pasta products imports dropped significantly to $36M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 64%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $44M, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
