In 2022, the average petroleum jelly import price amounted to $1,957 per ton, falling by -8.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 22% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,166 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($2,101 per ton) and Japan ($2,037 per ton), while the price for China ($1,452 per ton) and Russia ($1,664 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
