Poultry Price in Australia (FOB) - 2022

The average poultry export price stood at $1,492 per ton in 2022, increasing by 6.6% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 28% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,606 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($4,118 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($672 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Poultry Price in Australia (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average poultry import price amounted to $3,464 per ton, growing by 188% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a strong increase. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($13,898 per ton), while the price for Sri Lanka ($1,840 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+36.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Poultry Exports in Australia

In 2022, poultry exports from Australia expanded significantly to 51K tons, increasing by 7.8% against the year before. Overall, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +48.3% against 2020 indices. Over the period under review, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +61.5% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 20%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
