Preserved Sardines Price in Kuwait (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average preserved sardines import price amounted to $2,635 per ton, increasing by 6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,702 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($3,680 per ton), while the price for France ($426 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Oman (+22.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average preserved sardines export price amounted to $3,975 per ton, increasing by 6.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price posted resilient growth. As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Iran.

In 2022, approx. 920 tons of sardines (prepared or preserved) were imported into Kuwait; falling by -8.3% compared with the previous year's figure.
