The average import price for activated carbon; activated natural mineral products; animal black, including spent animal blacks stood at $1,207 per ton in February 2024, falling by -15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2024 when the average import price increased by 26% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,638 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to February 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.

The export price peaked in February 2024.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,660 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($342 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Africa (+33.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
