In 2022, the average import price for albumins; egg albumin, not drieds amounted to $13,000 per ton, waning by -6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 43%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $13,964 per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($13,519 per ton), while the price for China ($4,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of albumins; egg albumin, not drieds increased by 3.6% to 29 kg for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a mild descent.

In value terms, albumins; egg albumin, not dried imports contracted modestly to $377 in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 8.1%.
