The average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $4,905 per ton in August 2023, shrinking by -5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a mild increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 63% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,460 per ton. From April 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Australia ($16,309 per ton), while the price for India ($4,347 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander amounted to $4,693 per ton, dropping by -23.6% against the previous year.
