Price for Bed Linen of Cotton in Romania (FOB) - 2023
The average bed linen of cotton export price stood at $17,494 per ton in June 2023, falling by -2.1% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, bed linen of cotton export price increased by +38.8% against March 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 48% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $17,878 per ton in May 2023, and then reduced slightly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($51,117 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($11,340 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average bed linen of cotton import price stood at $14,342 per ton in June 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, import price indicated perceptible growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, bed linen of cotton import price increased by +29.5% against December 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $14,537 per ton in May 2023, and then reduced modestly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($19,110 per ton), while the price for Austria ($7,317 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
