Price for Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Belarus (FOB) - 2022

In March 2022, the average books, brochures and leaflets export price amounted to $5,861 per ton, waning by -9.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 when the average export price increased by 25% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $6,845 per ton. From February 2022 to March 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($15,632 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($4,314 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In March 2022, the average books, brochures and leaflets import price amounted to $5,784 per ton, stabilizing at the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2021 when the average import price increased by 27% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,702 per ton. From November 2021 to March 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($9,534 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($2,612 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Exports of Books, Brochures and Leaflets in Belarus

For the fourth year in a row, Belarus recorded growth in overseas shipments of books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter, which increased by 11% to 3.7K tons in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +52.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, books, brochures and leaflets exports surged to $21M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +13.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
