The average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $839 per ton in January 2024, with an increase of 93% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,238 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to January 2024, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($2,305 per ton), while the average price for exports to Paraguay ($126 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Argentina (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the fourth year in a row, Brazil recorded growth in overseas shipments of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds, which increased by 26% to 1.2K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 44% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds surged to $887K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
