In October 2023, the average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $2,726 per ton, dropping by -2.1% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a notable expansion from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds increased by +57.3% against March 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,784 per ton in September 2023, and then dropped modestly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,835 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($1,508 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $958 per ton in October 2023, which is down by -54.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 79% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,358 per ton. From July 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Norway ($3,359 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($190 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greenland (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds decreased by -11.5% to 27K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend.
