In December 2023, the average import price for carpets and other textile floor coverings; tufted, whether or not made ups amounted to $5.1 per square meter, with a decrease of -25.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 96% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6.9 per square meter in November 2023, and then reduced sharply in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($14.9 per square meter), while the price for Turkey ($3.3 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In December 2023, the average export price for carpets and other textile floor coverings; tufted, whether or not made ups amounted to $9.4 per square meter, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2023 when the average export price increased by 96% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $12.9 per square meter in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($24.0 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Israel ($1.7 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+24.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Carpets and Other Textile Floor Coverings; Tufted, Whether or Not Made Up in Greece
In 2022, the amount of carpets and other textile floor coverings; tufted, whether or not made ups imported into Greece skyrocketed to 5.7M square meters, picking up by 24% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 62% against the previous year.
