Price for Cereal Flour; of Maize (Corn) in Romania (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average export price for cereal flour; of maize (corn) amounted to $602 per ton, dropping by -2.9% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a slight expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, cereal flour; of maize (corn) export price decreased by -21.6% against April 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 107% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $768 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($871 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($438 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cereal flour; of maize (corn) stood at $535 per ton in May 2023, declining by -20.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a pronounced expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 139% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $862 per ton. From September 2022 to May 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,584 per ton), while the price for Spain ($466 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Cereal Flour; of Maize (Corn) in Romania
For the fourth year in a row, Romania recorded growth in overseas shipments of cereal flour; of maize (corn), which increased by 70% to 14K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
