Price for Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Uganda (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average export price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin amounted to $285 per ton, falling by -17.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin increased by +2.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $352 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,339 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($169 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Burundi (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Based on 2022 figures, import price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin increased by +25.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 67% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $843 per ton, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($2,298 per ton), while the price for Democratic Republic of the Congo ($238 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+11.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, exports of cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin from Uganda surged to 6.7K tons, increasing by 35% on 2021. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
