In 2022, the average export price for chloride oxides and chloride hydroxides; of coppers amounted to $6,341 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Colombia ($7,092 per ton) and Brazil ($6,429 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($5,748 per ton) and Bulgaria ($5,798 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+12.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, shipments abroad of chloride oxides and chloride hydroxides; of coppers decreased by -8.4% to 951 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +42.3% against 2019 indices.
