In November 2023, the average export price for copper; bars, rods and profiles, of copper-zinc base alloys (brass)s amounted to $5,467 per ton, with an increase of 1.5% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to November 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 10% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,597 per ton. From May 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Poland ($5,518 per ton) and the United States ($5,470 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($5,295 per ton) and Romania ($5,300 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for copper; bars, rods and profiles, of copper-zinc base alloys (brass)s stood at $8,895 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($9,696 per ton) and Poland ($8,881 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($7,718 per ton) and Turkey ($7,930 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Copper; Bars, Rods and Profiles, of Copper-Zinc Base Alloys (Brass) in Ukraine
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of copper; bars, rods and profiles, of copper-zinc base alloys (brass)s decreased by -27.6% to 8.7K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated notable growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +9.9% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 12K tons, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
In value terms, exports of copper; bars, rods and profiles, of copper-zinc base alloys (brass)s contracted rapidly to $50M in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 105%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $68M, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
