The average import price for copper plates, sheets and strips stood at $10,613 per ton in March 2022, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2021 an increase of 11% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $10,966 per ton in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to March 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($17,605 per ton), while the price for China ($7,638 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for copper plates, sheets and strips stood at $9,851 per ton in March 2022, shrinking by -6.7% against the previous month. Over the period from March 2021 to March 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2021 an increase of 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $10,776 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to March 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($12,971 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($8,689 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
