In general, the import price, however, showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 17%. The import price peaked at $10,539 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Belarus.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($10,330 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine totaled $4,798 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In general, exports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 82%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 33 tons, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, exports of crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s declined sharply to $156K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 96% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $207K, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
