The average import price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds stood at $9,522 per ton in 2022, declining by -8.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 73% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $11,013 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($11,569 per ton), while the price for China ($2,816 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $16,828 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($8,066 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Sudan stood at $3,990 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
