In October 2023, the average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds amounted to $1,758 per ton, growing by 16% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,198 per ton), while the price for Costa Rica ($877 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average export price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds amounted to $2,032 per ton, growing by 32% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a temperate increase from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.5% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds increased by +59.7% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 43% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,274 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($2,943 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,796 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
