The average import price for dithionites and sulphoxylates; of sodia stood at $5,841 per ton in September 2022, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2022 an increase of 119% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $12,562 per ton. From July 2022 to September 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($12,073 per ton), while the price for India totaled $3,653 per ton.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for dithionites and sulphoxylates; of sodia amounted to $3,854 per ton, which is down by -35.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $8,888 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($7,872 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($1,718 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Myanmar (+30.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
