The average import price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) stood at $1,746 per ton in November 2023, which is down by -11.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,273 per ton. From March 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($2,070 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($1,201 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, export price indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 39% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($16,011 per ton), while the average price for exports to Algeria ($1,592 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+16.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
