Over the period from January 2023 to January 2024, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2023 when the average import price increased by 67% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $950 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to January 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,677 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($847 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Pakistan.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the rate of growth in terms of prices for France amounted to +14.5% per month.
