In August 2023, the average export price for fresh or chilled lamb carcasses and half-carcasseses amounted to $9,293 per ton, dropping by -4.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 14% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $10,126 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($9,724 per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland totaled $8,037 per ton.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
