Price for Glass Fibre and Article in Belgium (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average glass fibre and article export price amounted to $1,756 per ton, rising by 4.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 7.9% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,811 per ton in 2014; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($3,031 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($1,421 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average glass fibre and article import price amounted to $1,838 per ton, picking up by 7.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 13%. The import price peaked at $2,473 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,322 per ton), while the price for the United States ($963 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, approx. 452K tons of glass fibres and glass fibre articles were exported from Belgium; remaining constant against 2021. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 459K tons, and then fell slightly in the following year.

In value terms, glass fibre and article exports rose slightly to $793M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
