The average glass fibre chopped strand import price stood at $1,650 per ton in 2022, increasing by 31% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,729 per ton; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Malaysia ($1,650 per ton) and Germany ($1,650 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($1,650 per ton) and China ($1,650 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+24.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
