Price for Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Slovenia (CIF) - 2022

The average grapes; fresh or dried import price stood at $1,807 per ton in 2022, reducing by -20.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 20%. The import price peaked at $2,267 per ton in 2021, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,937 per ton), while the price for Croatia ($1,190 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average grapes; fresh or dried export price stood at $977 per ton in September 2023, waning by -29.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a tangible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 78% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $3,646 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Croatia ($2,187 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($741 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Slovenia

In 2022, purchases abroad of grapes; fresh or drieds decreased by -69.4% to 7.2K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 206%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 25K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, grapes; fresh or dried imports fell sharply to $13M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a mild downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 266% against the previous year.
