In 2022, the average import price for halides and halide oxides of non-metals; excluding chlorides amounted to $11,915 per ton, increasing by 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 74% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $46,073 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($12,017 per ton), while the price for France ($6,572 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+44.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Imports of Halides and Halide Oxides of Non-Metals; Excluding Chloride in Azerbaijan
In 2022, approx. 2.3 tons of halides and halide oxides of non-metals; excluding chlorides were imported into Azerbaijan; dropping by -61.9% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 946%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 5.9 tons, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
In value terms, imports of halides and halide oxides of non-metals; excluding chlorides reduced notably to $27K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a measured expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 253% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $50K, and then fell notably in the following year.
